SPRINGVALE TOWNSHIP POLICY - DITCH MOWING AND BRUSHING

September 6, 2006

Springvale Township will mow all roadside ditches six (6) feet from the edge of the road beginning the first week of July. A second mowing will be done the first week of September of each calendar year.

All vegetation with a base diameter of six (6) inches or less will be mowed or trimmed in the right of way of the township road. If anything larger than six (6) inches in diameter is causing a safety hazard or interferes with travel on township roads, the Springvale Township Board of Supervisors will try and contact the adjacent property owner for prior notice before removal. All other brushing, trimming, and mowing jobs will be considered on a case by case basis which the Township Board of Supervisors will discuss during their spring and fall road inspections, and will decide what action will be taken.

All other ditch mowing, brushing, and trimming concerns will be referred to the Springvale Township Right-of-Way Ordinance 2004-1.
